The Beale Memorial Library has partnered with California State University, Bakersfield to offer a free six-month creative writing series beginning in November. From a Kern County Library press release:
“Join instructors and writers from California State University Bakersfield for a series of creative writing workshops at the Beale Memorial Library on the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning this November and ending in April 2012. These workshops will explore the basics of the writing process: character development, plot, detail, organization, and creativity in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. The series will culminate in a Writers Resource Fair in April 2012. The classes are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Beale Memorial Library at 661-868-0745.”
